The Italian Society for Hair Science and Restoration (Società Italiana di Tricologia, or 'S.I.Tri') is a non-profit Scientific Medical Association in the field of Trichology. It was founded in 1994 by Professor Andrea Marliani, and is the largest Trichological association in Italy. S.I.Tri.'s objective, through its activities and services, is to keep doctors, hair operators and the public informed and defend them from misleading information and fraud in the field of Trichology.
TricoItalia is the sister society of S.I.Tri., dedicated to non-medical operators in the field of trichology, including technicians, aestheticians, biologists, chemists, nurses and hairdressers. The close relationship between S.I.Tri. and TricoItalia ensures that all operators in the sector of Trichology are kept up to date with the latest developments and best practice.

The Italian Academy of Hair Microscopy is dedicated to providing education and training in the use of Microscopy in Polarized Light in the Trichological sector, both in Italy and internationally.
